Inspired by Albany

"Old Post Office"

"Town Hall"

I live in a great town on the southern tip of Western Australia. Albany was the first settlement in WA and as such holds a lot of history, stories, and secrets. A lot of my work is inspired by life here, the great lifestyle, community, beautiful natural environment including the whitest sandy beaches with turquiose water, and the historical aspects of this place. So my newest papercuts are a couple of the iconic old buildings: The Old Town Hall and The Old Post Office- with a little extra added magic.

"Butterfly Man"

"Butterfly Man" is a peice I am working on for "Cut Fold Build Dream", an exhibition that opens March 3 in Denmark as a part of the Brave New Works Festival- focusing on the use of white recycled paper. Its still in progress on my studio floor, but a few other designs have emerged from it- which is the beauty of such projects.
